How do Industrial Air Filters Work?

Industrial air filters, also known as industrial air cleaners or industrial air filtration systems, are designed to remove pollutants from the air in industrial locations such as factories, warehouses, and workshops. They work by taking air in, passing it through a filter or series of filters, and returning the cleaned air back to the plant or equipment.

It is generally used in clean workshops, clean workshops, clean operating rooms, laboratories and clean rooms, or for dust prevention of electronic, mechanical and communication equipment. There are five models of primary filter, medium filter, high filter, sub-high filter and high filter. Various models have different standards and performance. So how does an air filter work? Below we will introduce the three working principles of the air filter.

First of all, filter residue layer filtration: In the initial stage, the filter medium can only intercept some larger solid particles and some floating impurities. Small particles are smaller than the pores of the filter medium, and some relatively small impurity particles will pass through the pores of the filter medium. At this time, a filter residue layer will be formed, and the filter residue layer will play an important role in filtering, and particles of all sizes will be intercepted.

The depth filtration for comparing the filter media, if the suspension contains solids, the key point is that the particles should be smaller than the pores of the filter media. When filtering, particles enter and are adsorbed in the pores, which can easily block the tube.

After that, the solid particles left after filtration will be larger than the pores of the filter medium, so that the debris particles can be filtered out smoothly. The above three filtering methods are complementary to each other. Keeping these three points in mind will be of great help to us in the process of using filters.

Air enters through the inlet of the filter. Impurities, particles, etc. in the air are trapped inside the filter through the filter screen or filter material. The filter screen and filter material adopt different specifications, which can intercept particles of different particle sizes. Through this process, the filtered air has fewer particles and a higher degree of cleanliness.

The filtering effect mainly depends on the filter mesh specification and filter material type of the filter. The smaller the pore size of the filter, the finer the particles that can be retained. The adsorption capacity and barrier capacity of the filter material also determines the overall filtration effect. Through multi-stage filtration and series connection of filters of different specifications, a higher dust removal effect can be achieved.
